THE LAND OF THE EARTHWORMS (Terra Dei Lombrichi)

Masterclass and development in collaboration with Carriageworks’ In Development program 2018, offering Australian performance-based artists the opportunity to attend a masterclass with renowned Italian artist Chiara Guidi – founder of Socìetas Raffaello Sanzio.

As part of this creative laboratory the masterclass component gives a unique insight into Chiara’s process that resulted in an informal performance outcome.

“Over 7 years ago, I had the absolute ground shaken beneath me when I participated in a masterclass with the legendary Chiara Guidi, co-founder of the seminal avant-garde theatre company Societas Raffaello Sanzio. From that point on everything changed. What Chiara did for me affirmed what I had been doing in my arts practice. I just hadn’t met anybody who expressed it so well or who embraced risk and aesthetic as she does. I am in awe of Chiara, there is no denying this. I have travelled to her home in Cesena, Italy to work with her, and I have made 3 shows with her since our first meeting.”
